He highlighted that the celebration not only reflects the strong and enduring relations between ASEAN and India under the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership but also contributes meaningfully to the ASEAN-India people-to-people engagement and cultural understanding. He further noted the growing popularity of yoga across ASEAN Member States and its positive contributions to physical well-being, mental health, and emotional resilience. In this regard, he underscored that yoga complements ASEAN’s efforts to build a healthy, caring, sustainable, and productive community, while supporting the ASEAN Health Sector’s priorities to prevent and control noncommunicable diseases through physical activity and to promote mental health and well-being.

This year marked the fourth consecutive celebration of the International Day of Yoga at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat, building on the successes of the previous events held since 2023.
