Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, met with the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the U.S. Mission to ASEAN, Ms. Joy M. Sakurai, at the ASEAN Headquarters/ ASEAN Secretariat, to discuss the ASEAN-U.S. digital cooperation priorities 2026, which includes ASEAN-U.S. collaboration on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA). Dr. Kao welcomed the U.S.’ continued support in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for AI adoption, and advancing AI development and deployment in a manner that is practical, adaptive, and innovation-enabling across in ASEAN.
