The ASEAN Post-Ministerial Conference with Russia was held in Kuala Lumpur today. The Meeting reaffirmed both sides’ commitment to advancing the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership and to outline its future direction. The Ministers noted with satisfaction the progress made in the implementation of the ASEAN-Russia Comprehensive Plan of Action (2021–2025) as it entered its final year. The Meeting also discussed ways to further strengthen the partnership and noted the ongoing development of the ASEAN-Russia Plan of Action (2026–2030), which will guide cooperation over the next five years. The Meeting was attended by the ASEAN Foreign Ministers or their representatives, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, H.E. Sergey Lavrov, and Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political-Security Community, Dato’ Astanah Abdul Aziz. Timor-Leste attended as Observer.
