The 5th ASEAN‑Russia Consultations of High Representatives for Security Issues convened today, in Moscow, at the sidelines of the 13th International Meeting of High‑Ranking Officials Responsible for Security Matters. The Consultations exchanged views on international and regional security issues—covering, inter alia, strategic stability, arms‑control, non-proliferation mechanisms, and biosecurity—while sharing best practices for tackling both traditional and emerging threats. In attendance were senior officials from the national agencies of ASEAN Member States and Russia responsible for security issues, as well as the Deputy Secretary‑General of ASEAN for ASEAN Political‑Security Community. Timor-Leste attended as Observer.
