Secretary-General of ASEAN Dr. Kao Kim Hourn today met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam Do Hung Viet in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on the sidelines of the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM) and Related Meetings. During the meeting, SG Dr. Kao expressed his condolences on the recent passing of the General Secretary of Viet Nam Communist Party Nguyen Phu Trong. They discussed ways to move forward ASEAN Community-building, as well as ways to maintain ASEAN Centrality in the region. Both sides highlighted the importance of sub-regional cooperation to complement ASEAN Community-building efforts.
